# Call for Proposals: HSCI Impact Grants

 The Harvard Stem Cell Institute (HSCI) is nearly 20 years old!

Time to re-think our goals and re-boot our procedures. With the success of all of you in establishing this field, building extraordinary basic science platforms and demonstrating clinical applications, our charge now is to demonstrate the unique power of HSCI to solve major biomedical challenges of our time. We must reinvigorate our donor base and ourselves with new, innovative, audacious programs to take on problems of human health.

Our plan is to sunset the current core and project funding mechanisms. They have been successful. Most have developed alternative funding sources. Instead, this is the moment for your best ideas, incorporating evolving technologies to resolve issues in regenerative biology that will meaningfully move the needle for better health.

HSCI is seek letters of intent regarding 3 to 5 years of RO1 level (up to $250,000 per investigator, per year in total costs - indirect costs with a maximum 20% of total direct costs-basis) funding to solve problems with a clear line of sight to human application and a compelling public impact.

Guidelines for this LOI are as follows:1. One page (up to 3 paragraphs) stating the big idea, the problem to be solved and what technologies will be employed;
2. A list of the 2 to 5 investigators and affiliations involved;
3. The PI must be a Principal or Affiliated Faculty member of the HSCI; and
4. Submit LOI by **January 15, 2023** to [nicoleloo@fas.harvard.edu](mailto:nicoleloo@fas.harvard.edu?subject=HSCI%20Impact%20Grants).

 All letters will be reviewed by the HSCI Executive Committee. Request for proposals are contingent upon the number and quality of the LOIs received, as well as the availability of HSCI funds.
