In addition to HSCI Seed Grant funding, Kim participated in HSCI’s Junior Faculty Program, which brought early-career investigators across the HSCI community together to study molecular pathways that regulate stem cell differentiation. “All of these interactions that HSCI is fostering have established a culture of collaboration that has ultimately contributed to the scientific advances my lab has been able to make.” Her lab uses a stem cell approach to better understand the biology of and potential therapeutic interventions for lung diseases. Recently, she has been developing protocols to generate lung organoids.
