Genetic and metabolic regulation of liver growth and cancer formation
Goessling Laboratory, Boston, MA, USA
The Goessling Laboratory in the Genetics Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Harvard Stem Cell Institute is recruiting a highly motivated post- doctoral research fellow to investigate genetic and metabolic determinants of liver growth.
Our laboratory seeks to understand the signals that indicate organ injury and regulate regenerative and cancer growth. Our specific interests are to define the similarities between development, regeneration and cancer formation of the liver, an important organ for the organism's metabolism. We investigate zebrafish as the primary model to discover novel regulatory pathways of liver development and their impact on liver repair and cancer.
We are particularly looking for exceptional candidates with expertise in computational biology and analysis of genome-wide sequencing and metabolomics datasets. Prior experience with zebrafish is not required. We are looking forward to having a highly motivated and productive candidate join our enthusiastic group. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who want to expand their knowledge and impact to a translationally relevant vertebrate model system with direct applicability to human disease.
Interested applicants should send CV, a cover letter indicating research experience, interests and goals, and names and contact information for at least three academic references to Dr. Wolfram Goessling (wgoessling@partners.org).
