One task a scientist may face during their career is how to manage a potentially patentable idea or discovery. This Info Course will provide a look into the process of obtaining a patent and describe the patent process from both the perspective of the faculty member and the university. We will address many questions including what is a patent, what ideas are worth patenting, and what is the role of the PI and the university in obtaining and managing a patent?

Nanocourse Director: Dr. Fred Winston
Curriculum Fellow: Emily Gleason

Website: https://nanosandothercourses.hms.harvard.edu/node/294
