HSCI Executive Committee member Prof. Amy Wagers (right) recently spent two hours being interviewed by the students in an MIT Science News Writing class. The students had been given a study Wagers had published in Nature, and interviewed her in preparation for writing a news story about the study and Wagers's work. Two weeks before Wagers's appearance, HSCI faculty member Willie Lensch had prepared the class with a lecture on stem cell biology and the ethical controversies surrounding the science. The two scientists participated in the class as part of HSCI's on-going community educational program.
