Flow Cytometry Cores

Since its beginning, HSCI established, launched, and helped operate several flow cytometry core facilities across HSCI institutions to ensure that key analytic resources would be available to our growing research community.

HSCI and Boston Children's Hospital Flow Cytometry Core Facility

The Harvard Stem Cell Institute (HSCI) and Children's Hospital Boston have made Flow Cytometry services available to HSCI Principal and Affiliated Faculty. The lab provides flow cytometry services for analyzing and sorting of cells, as well as training and expert consultation for project/experiment planning. The lab is equipped with 2 FACSArias, an LSRII and a FACSCalibur and is directed and Managed by Ronald Mathieu with the help of Mahnaz Paktinat. For more information, visit the core's website.

HSCI and HSCRB Flow Cytometry Core Facility

The Harvard Stem Cell Institute (HSCI) and Harvard Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology (HSCRB) have made Flow Cytometry services available to HSCI/HSCRB Faculty. The HSCRB Facility provides a stable framework for multidisciplinary studies to investigators for cell analyzing and sorting abilities. The Core is under the direction of the Flow Cytometry Steering Committee members Douglas Melton, PhD, Jeffrey Macklis, MD, and Amy Wagers, PhD. The service is managed by two full-time experienced operators who provide assistance and training on three sorters and two analyzers. HSCI/HSCRB Faculty will have priority and reduced pricing for the use of all HSCRB instruments. The facility is located in the Sherman Fairchild Building on the main Harvard University Campus. For more information and for the registration form, please contact Joyce LaVecchio.

HSCI and Joslin Flow Cytometry Core Facility

The Harvard Stem Cell Institute (HSCI) and Joslin Diabetes Center have made Flow Cytometry services available to HSCI Faculty. The Joslin Diabetes Center provides a stable framework for multidisciplinary studies to investigators for cell analyzing and sorting abilities. The Core Director is Thomas Serwold, PhD, and Co-Director is Amy Wagers, PhD. The service is managed by two full-time experienced operators who provide assistance and training on three sorters and two analyzers. HSCI Faculty will have priority and reduced pricing for the use of all Joslin instruments. The facility is located in the Joslin Diabetes Center at One Joslin Place.

HSCI and MGH Flow Cytometry Core Facility

The Harvard Stem Cell Institute (HSCI) and Massachusetts General Hospital have made Flow Cytometry services available to HSCI Principal and Affiliated Faculty. Under the direction of Hanno Hock, this service is managed by a full-time experienced technician, and HSCI Faculty will have priority and reduced pricing for the use of the BD FACSAria. The facility is located at the Richard B. Simches Research Center on Cambridge Street, Boston. For more information please contact Laura B Prickett.
