Duties And Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated research assistant to be part of a group that studies Type 1 Diabetes and stem cell biology. The position will assist in the identification of factors allowing differentiation of pluripotent stem cell lines into differentiated cell types implicated in development of autoimmune diabetes. Research assistant will help establish differentiation conditions to identify factor beneficial for directed differentiation of pluripotent stem cells. Duties will include cell culture with focus on mouse and human pluripotent stem cell lines (maintenance and cell differentiation), routine molecular biology procedures (cloning, plasmid preps, PCR), and FACS or immunofluorescence based high-throughput assays (biological and chemical screening). The research assistant is expected to organize and present obtained data sets. This is a one-year grant funded term position with the possibility for extension based on availability of funding.

Basic Qualifications
Laboratory experience in molecular and cell biology is required.

Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in life sciences preferred. At least one year related work experience (relevant course work may count towards experience). Attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.
