Duties And Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated research assistant to be part of a group that studies Type 1 Diabetes and stem cell biology. Position will assist in generation and characterization of patient specific pluripotent stem cell lines. Experimental designs will include cell culture with focus on human pluripotent stem cell lines (cell passage and maintenance), viral and non-viral gene delivery, standard molecular biological techniques (including DNA cloning, nucleic acid extraction, polymerase chain reaction), and immunofluorescence microscopy. The research assistant will have significant responsibilities for the management of cell culture equipment and supplies. This is a one-year grant funded term position with the possibility for extension based on availability of funding.

Basic Qualifications
Laboratory experience in molecular and cell biology is required.

Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in life sciences preferred. At least one year related work experience (relevant course work may count towards experience). Experience with tissue culture and molecular biological techniques are desirable. Must have good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
