Postdoctoral Position
A postdoctoral position is available in the Children's Hospital Stem Cell Program's newly established Camargo Laboratory to study the role of the Hippo signaling pathway in stem cell biology and tumorigenesis.
The laboratory's research focus is to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms of organ size control. We are particularly interested in studying the function of the newly discovered Hippo pathway and its effects on tissue size and stem cell activity. Additionally, the laboratory has developed a unique set of tools that will be used to systematically assay and identify novel components of this pathway using RNAi and small molecule screens.
The successful candidate should have prior experience with tissue culture, molecular cloning, generation of or experimentation with transgenic or knock-out mice, and biochemical assays. A working knowledge of stem cell biology is a plus. Candidate must also have excellent oral and written communication skills.
