The New England Primate Research Center (NEPRC) of Harvard Medical School (HMS) is seeking outstanding candidates in the area of Stem Cell Biology for appointment as Instructor.  Instructor is an entry level faculty rank.  A three year financial award will cover salary and defray research costs. Successful candidates will be expected to develop an independent research program and to compete for extramural grant support with guidance and mentorship from senior investigators on site.  NEPRC has 18 HMS Faculty full time on site and currently employs monkey models for Parkinson’s disease, type 1 diabetes, and AIDS.  CV, summary of past accomplishments and future plans should be sent electronically to scbneprc@hms.harvard.edu or by mail to SCB Search Committee, NEPRC, P.O. Scientific disciplines currently covered by NEPRC faculty include virology, immunology, neurosciences, genetics, and comparative pathology.  Specific areas of research interest include: neurodegenerative diseases; drug addiction; neuropsychiatric disorders; metabolism; AIDS vaccine development; AIDS pathogenesis.  Successful candidates will be appointed in an appropriate department of Harvard Medical School and will be expected to spend at least a portion of their effort utilizing nonhuman primate samples and/or nonhuman primate models for their stem cell research.
