Postdoctoral Position
A postdoctoral position is available in the Children's Hospital Stem Cell Program's newly established Gregory Laboratory to study the role of small regulatory RNAs in embryonic stem (ES) cell renewal and pluripotency. The laboratory's research focus is to understand the pathways of how small regulatory RNAs are generated, how they exert their gene regulatory function, and their role in the self-renewal and pluripotency of ES cells. We apply biochemical and molecular biological approaches to identify the molecular machinery of RNAi. Additionally, though ES-specific miRNAs have been identified, the genes that they regulate have so far remained elusive. We aim to systematically investigate the function of individual miRNAs in ES cells and identify their target genes.
A Ph.D. or M.D. and experience in molecular biological techniques are required. Knowledge of or demonstrated interest in, stem cell biology, RNAi, or epigenetics preferred.
