Tissue Engineering

HSCI Stem Cell Salon

Date and Time: April 26, 2011 - 3:30pm - 5:30pm
Location: Harvard Medical School, New Research Building, Seminar Room 350 (3rd floor Genetics Dept.), 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur, Boston

Abstract:
The interface of stem cell biology, biologically inspired material design, and biomedical engineering offers new opportunities to design and fabricate engineered living tissues for repair, reconstruction, and replacement.  This HSCI Salon will assemble leaders from the field of tissue engineering who will provide academic and industrial perspectives on both "bottom-up" and "top-down" tissue design, as well as the regulatory hurdles that exist in the movement of this technology from bench to bedside.
