HSCI is organizing a bike ride for Sunday, September 13, 2009 (rain or shine).  The planned route of approximately 40 miles will take us from Concord to Harvard (MA) and back on a modestly challenging route.  This is not a race, but a ride to help build community and awareness for HSCI.  The ride is designed for all skill levels, from weekend riders to bike commuters and competitive racers.  Spouses, significant others and friends are encouraged to ride as well.

If you haven't been on a bike in some time, and are concerned about your ability to complete this ride, HSCI's resident biking pro, George Kenty, will provide easy training tips guaranteed to fully prepare you by summer's end.  This is truly an event for the entire HSCI community.

This will be a fully supported ride with a rest station, on-the-road mechanic for basic repairs, and a sweep vehicle for those who can't complete the ride for whatever reason.

For those who want to participate, but can't ride the event, we need volunteers to cook, bake, or supply beverages for the start/end and mid-way points of the ride.  Contact Maureen Herrmann directly if you can help in this way.

To cover our costs, a $50.00 per rider registration fee is required.  Checks should be made payable to HSCI and sent to Maureen Herrmann, 42 Church St., Cambridge, MA  02138.  Please include the name(s) and e-mail contact for the rider(s).  Click on the link above to register.
